consider myself mostly self-taught in portraiture. I lucked into painting
portraits when my first clients took a chance with me as a novice painter. I read
and studied everything I could find in order to do a good job on that first
portrait, and that has led me to where I am today. Ten years later, I'm still
enjoying painting portraits.
Because I'm not a formally trained portrait artist, I'm not into formal
procedures. I like to make the portrait commission process as simple and
enjoyable for my clients as possible. I paint from photographs, and can use
one of your favorites or can set up a photo shoot with you.
I'm now offering an unusually low price on my portraits -- an 18"x 24" for
$250. My goal with this offer is to make oil portraiture available and
affordable for as many as would enjoy it. I've seen how people's eyes light up,
and how they are truly moved by a beautiful portrait of their loved ones.
